Alignment – Why is it Important?

by | Feb 10, 2020

It’s like we blinked and it was February.

2020 is off to a roaring start.
New clients.
New projects.
Renewed determination to smash  all of our goals.

Staying true to Our Core Pillars.

As we prepare to have even more fun this year, we remain committed to our core pillars.
Our pillars guide us every day – helping us answer key questions. What type of clients do we want work with? Does a project allow us to push our creative boundaries? Can we impact community in a positive way?  If the answer is ‘yes’, we know we are setting ourselves, and our clients, up for success.

When you think of your organization’s values or pillars, what comes to mind? Do they serve as a compass? A manifesto perhaps? Do they hold any weight or are they simply meaningless ‘buzz’ words on a wall or on a piece of paper?

Alignment is key.

Royston Guest shared a very powerful concept worth sharing. It goes like this:

If you ask your people to take actions ALIGNED with their values and beliefs, they will do it every single day of the week.

Why?

Because people WILL consistently do who they are.

If you don’t know what your core values are yet, we encourage you to start the work to get those answers. Once you have clarity around your values, consider if your personal and professional values are aligned. You may already have a great fit between values and career, or there could be a mismatch. It’s never too late to better understand your core values and align your career to them. Your career satisfaction and happiness may depend upon it.

Until next time…
